Quarry Garden in Shanghai Botanical Garden

This impressive Quarry Garden is situated at the center of Shanghai Chen Mountain Botanical Garden. It covers an area of 4.26 hectares (10.53 acres). Its overall look has been tremendously ruined and two quarries are created between the early 20th Century and the 1980s.
A deep pool is left in the right side after the hill is discovered and excavated into the ground. The hill was one of the most popular historical tourist resorts in this region, and is known as "Chen Mountain Eight Sights".

This garden is formerly an abandoned quarry which took 6 years to restore and replant to become an epic tourist attraction. This has also been awarded with American Society of Landscape Architecture 2012 Honor Award.
