Let's take a look at two of today's hottest Korean actors, Song Joong Ki and Kim Soo Hyun. Both actors did great this year. They both have a top-rating drama and a blockbuster movie.
Song Joong Ki started off his career in doing small roles. His role as a rich playboy and scholar in Sungkyungkwan Scandal made him rose to fame. He played a titular role for the first time in his 2012 melodrama Nice Guy. His portrayal of Kang Maru received positive reviews from critics and attracted high ratings among its audience. This year, he also starred as a werewolf in the box-office movie A Wolf Boy.
On the other hand, Kim Soo Hyun is best known for his role as Song Sam Dong in the musical drama Dream High. This year, his historical drama Moon Embracing The Sun, wherein he portrayed the role of a fictional Joseon king, further solidified his status as one of the hottest actors of 2012. He also made his debut in the big screen this year. He played the role of Jampano, the youngest member of a gang of thieves, in the star-studded box-office film The Thieves.
These two actors are indeed among the celebrities who have stood out throughout this year. In the recent survey made by KBS 2TV's Sympathy Generation Saturday, Song Joong Ki and Kim Soo Hyun ranked first and second, respectively.
